In order for a film company to make a profit via commercials is to make sure they have conventions that their will attract their target audience.
2.
I think they will have to think about the location they are set in and who is most likely to invest £8.90 or whatever price on particular movies.
It also depends on the film and if its made for an arthouse blockbluster or a multiplex.
For example if they were situated in central london like camden they tend to have more youths and young adults visiting the cinema aswell as tourists because its such a vibrant setting.
3. Because they are able to make more money from the blockbuster if they have a specific target audience. If they are independant they are more likely to already have a reputation in the film making world.
In addition if they are small independant companies that are just starting out then they wouldnt have a big budget anyways because their investors would give them a small budget in order to see how much they can make out of that investment. If they prove succesful then their budget will just increase through out time.
4. Once a film is recognised on an international scale and is publicised in places such as a film festival, many distributors want credit for some participation in the film in order to boost their advertisment aswell.
5. Having famous actors/resses,director & producer is always good for advertisement because they themselves have already gained the attention of an international audience I'm assuming due to their splendid performances through out the films they have previously been in. It makes marketing and distributing much easier when the actor is known as they are viable and don't have to prove themselves so much to the public whereas a new face to the scene would have to try extremely hard to pleasure their target audience. On the contrary there are many directors that aren't at all as known as other but still managed to create epic cinema pieces for example Steve McQueen has only began to attract a world wide due to his exquisite
It also makes the production process just a tad bit easier because every ones well experienced in what they are doing.

7.There needs to be a first for everything. eventually those teens and young adults are going to grow into middle aged and old adults which means they will be looking for something to suit their generation which unfortunately means they are not entertained which also means the film industry is going to be loosing money and loyal customers.
It also includes another type of audience instead of excluding them because of their age.
8. Well it all comes from their funding. if they are convinced that this movie will make a great amount of money then taking a risk on them will be worth while.
9. Either they wont make a very high profit or they will have to sell shares and use some sort of technique for advertising. However thats not always the case some films that have a low budget and screen in few cinemas manage to make a great profit for example monsters was filmed with a budget of
| Budget | $500,000[1] |
|---|---|
| Box office | $4,242,978[1 |
10. Summer is a wise time to be releasing films because it is a time when most young people are on holiday, spring break etc and they are the main target audience that cinemas try and attract. It is also a moment in time where vibes are up and people are most likley to go out. Many tourists tend to visit the cinema on their holiday trip and in Britain summer tends to see tourism rise drastically.
11. It's best to watch a film after christmas because thats when people are most likely to go out with friends because that period of time is a family moment and most don't have time during the year to hang out with their families so its a special period.
Winter tends to be a good time to release horror movies because it gets dark very early which creates a sort of intense atmosphere amongst the audience making the movie more enjoyable.
12. Your most likely to have your film noticed during that period as not much high blockbuster movies come out which means a big opportunity for your movie to be seen and not covered by all these other big movies. They are like open access points which catch the publics full attention. However it is riskey because many people may miss it if its not attractive enough.
13. They are quite effective because we are not always on digital objects whereas we tend to see things more around us. In an entire day, we're likely to see 3,500 marketing messages.
14. Most film distributors make different trailers in order to keep the audience updated and so they dont get bored. It also introduces them to different aspects of the film which attracts them more. It also keeps the audience wanting more- so if the distributor started off with a trailer consisting of a few clips then gradually introduced more clips through different trailers thats most likely to get the audience to want to further investigate the movie and go and watch it.
